This year’s Hodupp Award recipient started as an Account Executive over 20 years ago in the mortgage industry and has been active with the Northwest Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association as well as the Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois Mortgage Bankers Associations, Mortgage Bankers Association of Kentucky, Mortgage Bankers of the Bluegrass, and currently sits on the Board for the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association.
Despite all these trade organization affiliations, each with their own calendar of events, he has consistently stated that he enjoys his time spent with those hosted by MBA NWO the most. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and can still be seen there playing recreational hockey on campus before most of us are even out of bed. Think that’s enough to keep him busy? Our award recipient has also been a U.S. hockey scout in the Ontario Hockey League since 2014, first with the Mississauga Steelheads and then for 7 years with the Erie Otters, where he helped them hoist the J. Ross Roberson Cup in 2017. Today he’s working with the Kingston Frontenacs to accomplish the same goal. |
As a member and continued supporter of MBA NWO he has individually represented thousands of dollars for selected charities over the past 3 years at the Red Barron Golf Outing and Annual Banquet through sponsorship and personal means including donated gifts at each of these events. If you’ve attended a Mud Hens, Michigan State, Detroit Tigers or Red Wings game as a result of winning a raffle or silent auction at an MBA NWO event, he is probably the reason why and those charities have seen the benefits of his generous heart.
In his current role as Regional Team Lead, he works closely with many IMBs, credit unions, community banks, and other members of the trade organizations previously mentioned, to help build the American dream of homeownership in his 6-state territory. As a result, he has won Account Manager of the Year multiple times, Regional Team Lead of the Year, Team Player and Sales Platoon of the Year awards. So, it’s no surprise that he is considered the BEST coworker and team manager every member of his regional “platoon” has ever had the great fortune to work with and be led by. And to his inner-state teammate … he’s a best friend.
But what he will probably tell you are his most important accomplishments - being a father to Colton, his son, whom with no surprise also plays hockey with unending support from his dad; and, being a devoted and supportive husband to Jennifer, his wife.
